Inside the Ian Simpson‘s expansive apartment atop a Manchester skyscraper. Filmed by Emile Rafael, presented by NOWNESS.

For British architect Ian Simpson, home sweet home is a two-story penthouse apartment with inordinately high ceilings, an enviable contemporary furniture collection and a well-rooted indoor garden. Situated 47 floors above Manchester in the Beetham Tower—a groundbreaking building designed by Simpson that is celebrating its tenth anniversary—the flat is an expansive study in high-rise living, and the building the tallest in the UK outside of London. At present, Simpson himself is busy transforming the capital’s landscape, with projects including the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, and the construction of One Blackfriars, a shiny new glass tower on the South Bank.
